Bears Newspaper Plates and Help

Postby gruberted » Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:29 am

Hey Guys and Gals,

I have uncovered some what I think very rare items from the Bears Super Bowl win in 1985.

The ebay links are below.

Who can I call or email to find out how much these things are worth.

Any help be appreciated.

Thanks!

maybe you could contact the sun times and see how many they printed and what they cost back then? Just a long shot suggestion, but someone has to know something at that place...

yeah I got that but maybe they can tell you how many they had and I would base it of rarity. Seems pretty rare and cool anyways, if it goes for the right price and you like it, pick it up, that 85 stuff will always be worth something.

Well I talked to the Sun-Times and they said they had no use for it (Customer Service)

I called the Bears and awaiting a reply.

I talked to a agency regarding memorabilia and they told me both plates would be worth around 800 total.

Now I gotta find places who would buy these kinds of items.

Maybe they'd be worth more if you could get Ondrej Pavelec to sign them

Seriously though Ted I think your best bet will be post these on the Bears board to reach the hard core fans who don't necessarily check out eBay.

I would think you'd want to find out what they're worth BEFORE putting them on eBay.

At least that's how it used to work.

The beauty of an eBay auction is that you will get what it is worth. Unlike selling something at a garage sale where you don't know if you got ripped off or not, if there is a collectible market for an item, it will sell for the true demand-driven value. An arbitrary number like $800 means nothing.

I have seen it with the collectible Pez dispensers, but the real proof is this recent ebay happening:
