And the games are on TV so that will be nice! I am so happy hockey is back. Yeah, my kids play year round, but nothing beats the Wolves and Hawks hitting the ice in meaningful games.

The good:
-puck movement and skill level
-resiliency shown coming back from multiple goal deficits repeatedly

The bad:
-D and goaltending
-not burying the chances early in OT yesterday

The ugly:
-The up camera angle that looks like it was parked in low earth orbit that showed half the rink at all times

D definately needs work. That'll help goaltending. But scoring doesn't seem to be a problem yet, so we got that going for us.

When you score 5 goals a game, you should win, Defence & Goalies need to be a lot better, thankful I don't have to watch anymore games with the roof camera.

WolfBoy is right. They scored 5 goals in each game, yet, don't have a win. I like the fact they outshot Texas both games, but giving up 27 and 36 shots against doesn't help. That means the defense as well as the offense players in the defensive zone need work. 3 power play goals for out of 10 chances....not too bad. 3 3rd period goals in the one game only to give up the tying goal with 3:30 left to force OT....not good.

When does Binnington get a chance? Curious how that whole arranagement will work out, as I never thought Dansk had amounted to much so far.

Too early to tell, carrying 3 goalies probably won't last for long.

Was right, Binnington reassigned to Providence.

Guess I should have looked there, that's disappointing. Goaltending could really prove to be the weak link if nothing changes.

I don't think you can make that assumption after a couple of games.

I'm not making the assumption based on these games alone, both Dansk and Lagace have yet to prove much at the AHL level.

And Binnington has? Inconsistent at best. :banghead:

Compared to those 2? Yes. Dansk couldn't cut it in the AHL with Columbus, which is why GM Jarmo Kekalainen let him get assigned back to Sweden rather than toil in the ECHL. How many times do you see an NHL franchise let a prospect go overseas (after a year in North America) to "develop" rather than stick it out in NA?

Binnington's worst GAA over an AHL season was 2.85. The best GAA for either Dansk or Lagace in the AHL? 2.9 by Lagace who backed that up the next year with a stellar 3.56.

But you're right, those two are definitely going to carry the team to the Calder Cup.

It's clear you are a Binnington fan, good for you, perhaps he we lead Providence to a Calder Cup.

If you think that the Wolves are perfectly fine with Dansk and Lagace, that's fine, I just tend to disagree. I just think that Binnington would have been a step up over the 2 current goalies on the roster.
